Interplay, the National Centre for Sensory Theatre, will continue to be part of Arts Council England’s national portfolio of arts organisations for the next four years. It means the charity can continue to take its professional and popular brand of theatre to special educational needs (SEN) schools and venues around the UK.
Artistic Director Steve Byrne said: “We’re really pleased at the news that we’ve been successful and grateful for the Arts Council’s support and confidence in the work we do.”
Interplay will use the funds over the next four years to produce up to seven new plays which all use each of the five senses. The team is also going to weave digital technology across its work to creatively enhance the use of the five senses.
